Finally the doors were open to Flora Bowleys classroom. I could enter a new world of possibilities, not only to learn how to paint but to learn to listen to my inner self and find myself as an artist. All by myself in my Swedish summer house I could attack the canvas, layer by layer. My first mistake was to have an inner image what I wanted it to be. Flora taught us not to, so let go, so I did. Turn the canvas around, feel, watch, spiral out, spiral in.....

Here is my second finished piece (and I have already sold it, lol).

Trust the mess!

I am taking a five weeks e-course with Flora Bowley, even if I haven't proper started yet, I am following the daily lessons and enjoying all the fabulous information. These prompts I copied, printed and put in my small art journal. Always good to have at hand when I am doubting myself... However it should have been Trust yourself!!!

Out of my comfort zone!

This is part of my new art journal, I am not happy with the left page so I am coming back later!

Here is how she is made...

First I put Gesso in combination with tissue paper, then I painted with Golden acrylic fluid phthalo blue and added some purple and gold. When dry I draw the head and put gesso on top and painted her, all with acrylic and with my fingers. Her hair is first stamped with a Tim Holtz stamp and white acrylic, it just gave the texture. Over it I painted, still with my fingers, Golden acrylic mixed with some gold ink. Lines like eyes etc I draw with a fine brush and black Gesso.
